I finally made it. My beautiful new studio is now open. The past few weeks have been incredibly busy – we took a bland unloved space and turned it into something beautiful. This was the wall before we added our magic.

The first thing I did was paint the walls a brilliant white. I wanted to create a space with a backdrop we could change to suit our moods and the time of year. It was important to me to create a space that could look like a room in your own home.

I added in some contemporary furniture, almost all of it was from Kmart – I know it’s surprising, but it was great quality, easy to assemble and a fabulous price. The tables came from Ikea and I added some vinyl cut lettering to make them sing. I love these tables now, and I had a giant one cut for the canvas in the picture above.

I still want to add some more artwork and put some pictures up but sometimes it’s good to just stop for a moment and try your place out before you finish. I am also working on a flower wall. This will also be a future class so I am very excited about this. I am hoping this will go live by the end of the week so watch this space.
